Equipment Lists

Here are some equipment lists straight out of the Labyrinth Lord and Advanced Labyrinth Lord books.  For all intents and purposes, all of the things on these lists are regularly available in Magnifulum.  However, in the villages of Cropfield, Etta's Fork, and Stupenderol, NOT all of these items are available. (Also, the cost should be different in the villages, not sure if I'll bother to do that or not.)

In addition to these lists, add:

Tent, Personal (sleeps 1)(approx 5'square)             5gp         1 slot
Tent, Regular (sleeps 2)(approx 10'square)           10gp        2 slots
Tent, Grand (sleeps 5)(approx 25'square)              25gp        5 slots
Tent, Pavillion (sleeps 20)(approx 100'square)    100gp       10 slots

Rations for 1 person for 5 days--preserved = 2.5 GP
Rations for 1 person for 2 days--preserved = 1 GP
Rations for 1 person for 5 days--UNpreserved = 1 GP

You can check the Encumbrance on This Page.

Calendar

Here is a copy of the Leauvalar Calendar, which shows the phases of the moon, notes the first day of the various seasons, solstices and equinoxes, and national, regional, and religious holidays.  (I haven't had time yet to determine names and details for these holidays, but we know what day they are so Clerics may celebrate instead of adventuring).

Four Seasons spread over Thirteen Months, Twenty-Eight Days each, for a Total of 364 Days a Year.

Character Sheet

Behold!  The Custom-Made Character Sheet I have devised for our game!

You are perfectly welcome to steal this jpeg and print it out for your own use.  This incorporates most of the important stuff on the front, leaving the back for Spell Lists, the amount of Treasure you have accumulated (and where you keep it), and answers to personality questions!

I know it looks weird right now, but I'm coming up with a video to show you how to use it!

You are welcome to use any old version of a character sheet --or just right out your character on a piece of notebook paper-- if you prefer, just as long as all the important info is available during the game:

Name
Class
Level
Ability Scores
Saving Throws
Attack Value
Armor Class
Age
Sex
Max Hit Point & damage sustained
Max Magic Points & how many you have left
Special Skills (Spells, Turn Undead, Infravision, Thief Skills, Battle Charge, Smell Gold, etc)
Inventory Slots & Movement Speed
Morality Tracker

The following items are intended to be hand-written on the back of this sheet, but should also be on your sheet somewhere.

Inventory and Equipment Weight

The amount of Equipment you carry determines how fast you can move.  On your Character Sheet you should have this Inventory Chart (or something similar).

The number of slots available is determined by your Constitution Score and your Strength Bonus.  For Example, if you have a Constitution score of 14 and a Strength score of 16 (a +2 Bonus), then you would have 16 Slots in the large Inventory block, and 3 extra slots in each of the smaller blocks.  You should cross out the slots you cannot use, but remember that there are ways in-game to change your ability scores and doing so may change the amount of Inventory Slots available to you.

Now if the Items you carry only fill the available slots in the Large Block, you can move 120 feet per Turn in Dungeons, 40 feet per Round during Encounters (like Combat), and can run at 120 feet per Round.  In the Wilderness we would measure in yards instead of feet.

As soon as you pick up an item that must be placed in the smaller Inventory Blocks, you character is weighted down more and moves slower.  If you have Items in the Light Movement Block, you now move 90 feet per round, 30 feet per Round during Encounters, and run at 90 feet per Round.

If you have Items in the Medium Movement Block, you move 60 feet per Turn, 20 feet per Round during Encounters, and run at 60 feet per Round.  The Heavy Movement Block is even slower:  30 feet per Round, 10 feet per Round during Encounters, and run at 30 feet per round.

Short version:  The More you carry, the Slower you Move.

Each Inventory Slot holds 10 pounds or 100 coins.  (The Labyrinth Lord measures weight in pounds, but the Dungeons and Dragons Cyclopedia measures weight in coins.)

So...how heavy are the armor, the weapons, and the exploration equipment you need to carry?  This is a list of Equipment Items and how many slots they require on your Inventory List.

We'll start with Armor.  If you wear NO Armor, it uses NO Inventory Slots.  The number of points the Armor improves your Armor Class is the same number of slots the Armor fills in your Inventory.

So Chain Mail Armor raises your AC (Armor Class) to 15, but it also fills up 5 slots in your Inventory.

MAGIC ARMOR

Magical Armor can be +1, +2, or +3.  This Bonus number shows how it improves your AC from the non-magical version.  But it also "frees up" that many slots in your Inventory.

Let's say you have a set of Magical Chain Mail +1.  The Magical Armor now raises your AC to 16, but it ALSO takes up 1 less Inventory Slot.  So the Magical Chain Mail only requires 4 Slots.

These Items require 2 Slots

RULE CHANGE

All items from here down, now take up 1 Slot in your inventory, for the sake of simplicity.  It defies logic, but it makes the game easier.  If the inventory list says 20 arrows and Quiver, then 1 inventory SLot will hold 20 arrows.  If it says 1 Flask of Oil, then we must presume it is 1 Flask of Oil, probably wrapped in some cloth to try and keep it from breaking, hence the amount of space it takes up.

This list shows the amount of coins displaced by different types of Treasure.

Gem                     =   1 Coin
Jewellery (1 Piece) = 10 Coins
Potion                   =  10 Coins
Rod                       =   20 Coins
Scroll                    =   1 Coin
Staff                      =   40 Coins
Wand                    =  10 Coins

Due to their length:
A Rod will NOT fit in a container that holds less than 500 coins. (It can be placed in a backpack or a saddlebag, but will stick out.
A Staff will NOT fit in any of the containers on the chart above.  It would fit in a very long box, like a musket case or coffin.
A Wand will NOT fit in a container that holds less than 200 coins.  (It can be placed in a Large Belt Pouch, but will stick out.

Gods of Leauvalar

This is going to be a comprehensive list of all the Gods worshipped in Leauvalar.  Clerics get special bonuses every time they gain a level where the Savings Throws improve.  These bonuses are based on which God the Cleric serves.

THE GRIFFONWYR PANTHEON

This Pantheon includes Alaric, Joss, Copia, Nodlum, Darkhata, and the Abominable One.  As the Kingdom of Flahr conquered more little kingdoms, they absorbed many different faiths, spreading the gospel of various Gods across the continent.  Once Flahr fell, many lands acknowledged a collection of Gods who originated in various, sometimes far-off, tribes.

Clerics who follow the Pantheon are mostly "generic clerics".  They pick any 2 Gods from their Pantheon and observe all Holidays related to those Gods.  (It is NOT socially acceptable to observe the Holidays related to Darkhata or the Abominable One, but it is not against the rules.)

At character creation, the Pantheon Cleric gains 1d3 to their Maximum Hit Points.  If they ever cease to be a Cleric, they will lose 1d3 HP from their Maximum Hit Points.

Holy Day is Sunday

Forbidden Food is Pork

Clerics of the Pantheon start at 0 on the Morality Tracker.

At Level 5, they get +1 to their Wisdom Score.

At Level 9, they can cast Cure Critical Wounds once per day without using any Magic Points.

If you follow a single God, you do NOT get these bonuses.

ALARIC (Lawful)

Alaric is a God of Goodness, Loyalty, and Light.  His Holy Symbol is a Sun with a Face.  His Iconography includes the Sun, the color Yellow, and Dogs.  Think of all the righteous, goody-two-shoes, Superman-esque boy scout values...and that is the ideology of the Church of Alaric.

Holy Day is Wednesday

Forbidden Food is Intelligent Creatures

Clerics of Alaric start at +1 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Alaric get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Morning Star.

At level 5, they get a +1 to all Turn Undead Rolls.

At level 9, they can cast Atonement 1 time per day without using Magic Points.

JOSS (Lawful)

Joss is a God of Intelligence, Perception, and Knowledge.  He is the God usually worshiped by Wizards.  His Holy Symbol is a Quill with a drop of ink hanging from the nib, sometimes surrounded by a circle.  His Iconography includes the Scroll, the Quill, and Cats.  They revere study for the study's sake and recorded knowledge in all its forms.

Holy Day is ????

Forbidden Food is ????

Clerics of Joss start at +1 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Joss get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Staff.

At level 5, they get a +1 to all Research Rolls.

At level 9, they can cast Magic-User spells as though they were a Magic-User of half their Cleric level.  This DOES use their normal pool of Magic Points to cast.  Clerics pray for these Magic-User spells just as they would for Cleric spells, and do NOT require a Spell Book.

COPIA (Neutral)

Copia is a Goddess of Nature, Harvests, and Crops.  Her Holy Symbol is a Bundle of Wheat.  Some Clerics literally carry a handful of Wheat for this purpose, but most have a wooden medallion.  Her Iconography includes Cornucopias, Corn Stalks, and Wheat.  Naturally, Copia is especially revered in farming communities, and small shrines to her are often found in the homes of farmers.  Her followers tend to be well-grounded, down-to-earth folks.

Holy Day is ????

Forbidden Food is ????

Clerics of Copia start at 0 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Copia get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Flail.

At level 5, they get a +1 to their Constitution Score.

At level 9, they can cast Purify Food and Create Food as though they were 1 Level higher.

NODLUM (Neutral)

Nodlum is a God of Merriment, Music, and Art.  His Holy Symbol is the Twin-Pipes (think of the twisted, forked pipes played by Jen the Gelfling in "The Dark Crystal"), often depicted "in a frame".  His Iconography includes Musical Instruments (especially Twin-Pipes and Lutes), Foam-Topped Flagons, and Ducks.  He was originally a Halfling God and is chiefly worshipped by Musicians, Artists, and happy-go-lucky types who don't take life very seriously.

Holy Day is Thursday

Forbidden Food is Baked Goods

Clerics of Nodlum start at 0 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Nodlum get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Hammer.

At level 5, they get a +1 to their Charisma Score.

At level 9, they can cast True Seeing 1 time per day at a cost of 0 Magic Points.

DARKHATA, aka The Night Queen (Chaotic) (due to the questionable morality of this Deity, I ask that players do NOT choose to be a Cleric of this Deity as at the present time.)

Darkhata is a Goddess of Darkness and Selfishness.  Her Holy Symbol is a Crescent Moon.  Her Iconography includes the Moon (in all phases), the color Black, and Bats.  She is the patron saint of all ambitious types, especially if they have a lack of morals.  To her followers, Self-Aggrandizement and Self-Promotion are virtues.  Some argue that Darkhata is NOT outright evil, but many of her followers are.  Darkhata is acknowledged but NOT beloved in Griffonwyr.  Clerics to Darkhata do NOT advertise their true allegiance to this Goddess for fear of persecution.  Temples to Darkhata are secret, but they may freely pray at Pantheon Temples.

Holy Day is ????

Forbidden Food is ????

Clerics of Darkhata start at -1 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Darkhata get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Mace.

At level 5, they get a +1 to all Spellcasting Rolls.

At level 9, they can cast Animate Dead 1 time per day without using Magic Points.

THE ABOMINABLE ONE (Chaotic) (This God is Off Limits to Players at this time.)

The Abominable One is a God of Evil and Malevolence.  His Holy Symbol is a Horned Skull.  His Iconography includes images of Devils, decaying bodies, and the color Red.  This guy stands for all-purpose Evil.  The Abominable One is the primary God worshiped in Asteriad.  However in Griffonwyr he is acknowledged but NOT beloved and Clerics to The Abominable One do NOT advertise their true allegiance to this God for fear of persecution.  Temples to The Abominable One are secret, but they may freely pray at Pantheon Temples.

Holy Day is ????

Forbidden Food is ????

Clerics of The Abominable One start at -1 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of The Abominable One can use a Dagger and can Backstab like a Thief.

At level 5, they can summon an Imp as per the Summon Familiar spell.

At level 9, they can cast Flamestrike 1 time per day without using Magic Points.

OTHER KNOWN GODS (These Gods are Off-Limits to Players at this time.)

RATTATAKI (Chaotic)

Rattataki is a Rat-God worshipped by Kobolds.  The Kobolds farm a pack of rats, then select one which they grow to gigantic size.  They hope their God with inhabit the body of this Avatar and lead them to greatness.  When the Avatar Rat dies without manifesting their God, this is attributed to the sins of the Kobold Pack and a new rat is selected to become a new Avatar, so the cycle goes ever on.

Clerics of Rattataki get ???

At level 5, they get ???
