Gods of Leauvalar

This is going to be a comprehensive list of all the Gods worshipped in Leauvalar.  Clerics get special bonuses every time they gain a level where the Savings Throws improve.  These bonuses are based on which God the Cleric serves.

THE GRIFFONWYR PANTHEON

This Pantheon includes Alaric, Joss, Copia, Nodlum, Darkhata, and the Abominable One.  As the Kingdom of Flahr conquered more little kingdoms, they absorbed many different faiths, spreading the gospel of various Gods across the continent.  Once Flahr fell, many lands acknowledged a collection of Gods who originated in various, sometimes far-off, tribes.

Clerics who follow the Pantheon are mostly "generic clerics".  They pick any 2 Gods from their Pantheon and observe all Holidays related to those Gods.  (It is NOT socially acceptable to observe the Holidays related to Darkhata or the Abominable One, but it is not against the rules.)

At character creation, the Pantheon Cleric gains 1d3 to their Maximum Hit Points.  If they ever cease to be a Cleric, they will lose 1d3 HP from their Maximum Hit Points.

Holy Day is Sunday

Forbidden Food is Pork

Clerics of the Pantheon start at 0 on the Morality Tracker.

At Level 5, they get +1 to their Wisdom Score.

At Level 9, they can cast Cure Critical Wounds once per day without using any Magic Points.

If you follow a single God, you do NOT get these bonuses.

ALARIC (Lawful)

Alaric is a God of Goodness, Loyalty, and Light.  His Holy Symbol is a Sun with a Face.  His Iconography includes the Sun, the color Yellow, and Dogs.  Think of all the righteous, goody-two-shoes, Superman-esque boy scout values...and that is the ideology of the Church of Alaric.

Holy Day is Wednesday

Forbidden Food is Intelligent Creatures

Clerics of Alaric start at +1 on the Morality Tracker.

Clerics of Alaric get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Morning Star.

At level 5, they get a +1 to all Turn Undead Rolls.

At level 9, they can cast Atonement 1 time per day without using Magic Points.

JOSS (Lawful)

Joss is a God of Intelligence, Perception, and Knowledge.  He is the God usually worshiped by Wizards.  His Holy Symbol is a Quill with a drop of ink hanging from the nib, sometimes surrounded by a circle.  His Iconography includes the Scroll, the Quill, and Cats.  They revere study for the study's sake and recorded knowledge in all its forms.

At level 5, they get a +1 to all Research Rolls.

At level 9, they can cast Magic-User spells as though they were a Magic-User of half their Cleric level.  This DOES use their normal pool of Magic Points to cast.  Clerics pray for these Magic-User spells just as they would for Cleric spells, and do NOT require a Spell Book.

COPIA (Neutral)

Copia is a Goddess of Nature, Harvests, and Crops.  Her Holy Symbol is a Bundle of Wheat.  Some Clerics literally carry a handful of Wheat for this purpose, but most have a wooden medallion.  Her Iconography includes Cornucopias, Corn Stalks, and Wheat.  Naturally, Copia is especially revered in farming communities, and small shrines to her are often found in the homes of farmers.  Her followers tend to be well-grounded, down-to-earth folks.

NODLUM (Neutral)

Nodlum is a God of Merriment, Music, and Art.  His Holy Symbol is the Twin-Pipes (think of the twisted, forked pipes played by Jen the Gelfling in "The Dark Crystal"), often depicted "in a frame".  His Iconography includes Musical Instruments (especially Twin-Pipes and Lutes), Foam-Topped Flagons, and Ducks.  He was originally a Halfling God and is chiefly worshipped by Musicians, Artists, and happy-go-lucky types who don't take life very seriously.

Clerics of Nodlum get a +1 to Hit and Damage rolls if they use a Hammer.

At level 5, they get a +1 to their Charisma Score.

At level 9, they can cast True Seeing 1 time per day at a cost of 0 Magic Points.

DARKHATA, aka The Night Queen (Chaotic) (due to the questionable morality of this Deity, I ask that players do NOT choose to be a Cleric of this Deity as at the present time.)

Darkhata is a Goddess of Darkness and Selfishness.  Her Holy Symbol is a Crescent Moon.  Her Iconography includes the Moon (in all phases), the color Black, and Bats.  She is the patron saint of all ambitious types, especially if they have a lack of morals.  To her followers, Self-Aggrandizement and Self-Promotion are virtues.  Some argue that Darkhata is NOT outright evil, but many of her followers are.  Darkhata is acknowledged but NOT beloved in Griffonwyr.  Clerics to Darkhata do NOT advertise their true allegiance to this Goddess for fear of persecution.  Temples to Darkhata are secret, but they may freely pray at Pantheon Temples.

The Abominable One is a God of Evil and Malevolence.  His Holy Symbol is a Horned Skull.  His Iconography includes images of Devils, decaying bodies, and the color Red.  This guy stands for all-purpose Evil.  The Abominable One is the primary God worshiped in Asteriad.  However in Griffonwyr he is acknowledged but NOT beloved and Clerics to The Abominable One do NOT advertise their true allegiance to this God for fear of persecution.  Temples to The Abominable One are secret, but they may freely pray at Pantheon Temples.

RATTATAKI (Chaotic)

Rattataki is a Rat-God worshipped by Kobolds.  The Kobolds farm a pack of rats, then select one which they grow to gigantic size.  They hope their God with inhabit the body of this Avatar and lead them to greatness.  When the Avatar Rat dies without manifesting their God, this is attributed to the sins of the Kobold Pack and a new rat is selected to become a new Avatar, so the cycle goes ever on.
